Excerpt from "How To Understand The Book of Revelation"

It is my hope and prayer that this book will visually and spiritually help the reader to better understand Christ's Messages to the Churches. This is a portion of the Book of Revelation that is often neglected and hurried past to later chapters dealing with the Great Tribulation, the Battle of Armageddon, etc. These messages are from God, to us, as individuals. We need to hear and obey if we are to receive His blessings and give Him the glory and praise He so richly deserves.
To understand the Book of Revelation, the reader should think of it as both a literary and spiritual journey. The first step on this journey should begin with simply reading each verse and deciding whether it needs more explanation. If it does, use a good Concordance and see if other scriptures can help you to understand it better. Also, pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you to the resources you need to further your understanding. Next, take notes and make sketches of all the key elements in the scriptures. The Book of Revelation is rich in visual references. Even if you are not an accomplished artist, making doodles and simple sketches can help you to visualize the key elements in the book. Finally, consider what this book says to you, as an individual. Are you encouraged to seek a closer relationship with God. Are you inspired to change your lifestyle? Do you feel a need to be more helpful to your fellow man? Follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit and let him guide you into God's perfect will for your life. The first three chapters of Revelation are explored, in-depth, in this book. Use it as a model to continue your exploration and further your understanding of the entire Book of Revelation.
